"My mom and dad were very interested in names with meaning and they came across an Arabic name…Aaliyah. And the names ‘highest, most exalted one, the best.’ And I think it really describes her because she was just an amazing girl" - Rashad

that feeling when you listen to a song with good heaphones for the first time and suddenly you notice 7 new instruments, a child singing harmonies in the background, and you’re just sitting there wide eyed and in love with the song all over again

I have no idea what the bottom half of Sycamore’s spanking new outfit looks like, but I’m sure it’s just as beautifully awful as the top.

On this day, we lost one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived that can’t be duplicated. Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She was a friend, a daughter, and a sister. Sometimes it still feels like she’s here with us. Aaliyah has one of the greatest influences on everyone’s life. You can go around and people about her and not one negative thing will come out of her mouth because she was such an angel. Aaliyah could be one of them people who let everything get to her head and act like a total diva, but she didn’t. She remained humbled and down to earth and didn’t take anything she had for granted. I was only 2 when she died but I’ll never forget how to had a positive impact on my life. 13 years later yet she still remains relevant and inspire people through her music. Aaliyah, Babygirl, we love you and we miss you.
